Epic Buffet - Hollywood Casino Toledo Experiences?

Heard that this was the best buffet in Ohio? Doesn't seem to be much in terms of good buffet's in Michigan. So I was curious if someone could share their experiences there?
Was thinking of going there tonight, but today's theme LOBSTER & STEAK DINNER doesn't sound that great, considering it's not a whole lobster and you only get 4. Was the whole lobsters buffet a thing of the past? Any thoughts?

$10/hr promotion

My local casino, Hollywood casino Toledo OH, has a pretty awesome promotion going on. For every 3 hours played between 3am and noon any day of the week, they give you 30 dollars, redeemable up to twice per day. I pretty much only play the late nighy hours because of this. This is on top of the $1/hr comp rate. Pretty easy fold-pre and win 5bb/hr. Easy game. Time when youre up from the table still counts as long as its under an hour.

Schedule announced for Hollywood Poker Open

Hollywood has a reputation for producing blockbuster movies, but over the next couple of weeks another type of event is expected to take place here. Poker players are enthusiastic about the prospect of spending a couple of days participating in the Hollywood Poker Open. In 2014, the number of American players expected to attend this tournament is significantly higher than one year ago, which means that the competition will be more intense. Some of them have honed their skills over the Internet and poker rooms such as Sky Poker, but only those who reside within the borders of New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada can play legally. Things will probably change in 2015 and beyond, but for the time being live tournaments represent the highlight of the month for poker players. Season three will begin this November, in Indiana and players should jump on the bandwagon because the next stop is scheduled for February. Those who miss out on the opening event will have to wait three months, which is a long time for those who appreciate the thrills of live poker tournaments. Last season, the Hollywood Poker Open sent many players to the championship event, with a total of 200 competing for real money. Both amateurs and poker professionals are expected to attend the opening event and even more will probably participate in the tournaments scheduled for 2015. Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg in Indiana will be the gracious host for the first tournament and the registration has already begun. The number of players who announced their intention to participate is on par with the expectations, but their numbers will probably soar as kickoff draws near. There are a couple of professionals who signed up and Chris Moneymaker will be one of them, as a tournament ambassador for season three. To get a better idea about what awaits poker players in 2015 and to make sure that your schedule doesn't conflict with the tournament's program, check out the dates and locations below: Dates Location Nov. 13-23, 2014 Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, IndianaFeb. 5-16, 2015 Hollywood Casino Toledo, OhioFeb. 26-March 8, 2015 Hollywood Casino Tunica, MississippiMarch 26-April 5, 2015 Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Grantville, PAApril 16-26, 2015 Hollywood Casino St. Louis, MissouriApril 30 - May 10, 2015 Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, West VirginiaMay 14-24, 2015 Hollywood Casino Columbus, OhioJune (TBD) Championship Event — M Resort Casino Spa, Las Vegas

Haven't played poker in years, looking to start playing live tournaments again. Has anyone here been to the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, OH?

As the title says, I'm getting that itch to start playing again. Just wondering if anyone can give me some input on the poker room in Toledo, for tournaments especially but also for cash games. Theres a few other options reasonably close to me, (Detroit and Windsor) but ideally I'd head to the place in my own back yard if it's decent.

$5 min tables

Hey all, I was wondering how rare it is to find a $5 min table as I only can get a minimum like that if I go on a weekday and play crapless. I go to Hollywood Casino in Toledo, OH but don’t know if it would be worth the extra drive to head up to Detroit.

Questions about mid-Ohio (Columbus/Cleveland) casinos

My wife and I have been spoiled living in SW Michigan over the last 10 years. We have 3 casinos within 40 minutes of us and another 2 just over an hour if we drive to the MI/IN line. Most of them have $5 dollar tables at some point during the week/weekend and some all of the time.
I'm deep into an interview that would put me between Columbus and Cleveland. I like that Ohio has no smoking in their casinos. I've been to a Hollywood Casino before in Toledo. Seemed like during the week there were $5 tables before 5 and they go up to $10 or higher at night. I've never been not he weekend.
I read that when Columbus opened their tables were 15/25 most of the time, but that seems to have died down. What are their table minimums like and do they ever have $5 tables?
I haven't been to any of the casinos (Jack Cleveland, or the racinos) so I know nothing about them. What can you tell me?
I looked at the drives from where we would be living. We might look at going to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh (a city that I love and miss living in). Don't know much about that place as it was built after I moved away. We also could look at Moutaineer RaceTrack in northern WV.
If all else fails, we will look at driving to Wheeling, WV to go to Wheeling Island as we know they always have lower minimums.
Thanks for your information and I look forward to rolling the dice with you.

Qualified in a satellite for an entry in the $75k guaranteed Great Lakes Poker Open

I finished in the top 4 of a $35 satellite yesterday to gain entry in the Great Lakes Poker Open being played this weekend at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio.
I'm in flight C which starts at 2:15 PM Eastern today. I've played lots of smaller live tournaments (under 50 entries) but this will be the biggest one for me so far. The casino added several tables outside of the poker room (which holds about 20 tables I believe) so they're expecting lots of entries.
If you're playing in this, good luck to you and hopefully we make it to the final stage of Monday!

What is a freebuy tournament?

https://www.hollywoodcasinotoledo.com/-/media/png/east/hollywood-toledo/pdfs/poker-flyers/2019/june/friday-freebuy-friday-pm.pdf?la=en&hash=0C80A7A860C3E99AE6682A9732F70A8DA4F8DF02
Local casino is going to start having a $100 "Freebuy" tournament every friday night, what exactly does that mean? It says each player gets a freebuy chip so i am assuming its a different form of a bounty tourney?

Madrid poker session 2

Today I had to skip a trip to Toledo because I drank too much the night before and woke up with a hangover that wasn't too bad, but bad enough to not be able to walk all day. I decided since I haven't busted my 1 bullet bankroll at 1/2 I would go back to the casino and see if I can profit again. I decided to take Psychohorak's advice for a change of scenery and went to the Casino Gran Madrid Colón, which happened to be only an extra 15 minute walk from Casino Gran Via and only runs 1/2 games according to their website. When I initially got there, I forgot my passport and they wouldn't take my drivers license this time so I got a bit tilted having to pay for another cab to go back to the hotel (took a taxi initially because I wanted to play right away). I double-checked their website and it turns out the poker room doesn't even open until 4:00 PM, so I waited a couple of hours and got there at 4:30, and no games were running because it was too early. Instead of walking all the way back or pay for another taxi, I just decided to chill at the sports betting area until a game opened up.

The casino itself is really nice, nicer than Casino Gran Via in my opinion. Casino Gran Via has an older, more elegant look to it, and Casino Gran Madrid Colón is more modern and open which I really liked, with the poker room separate from other table games just past the numerous roulette tables. After about 45 minutes waiting in the sports betting area, I met and chatted with a group of really nice Indian people who were waiting on the 35 Euro tournament that was about to start at 6:00. I watched from the rail for about 45 minutes until enough people joined the cash game which was 2/2 instead of 1/2 or 1/3, which was fine by me since I could buy in with 100BB. I bought in for €200, was 7-handed the majority of the time and was sat with the Asian American tourist again but he was with 2 of his friends as well. I accidentally had my passport on the table and the one sitting next to my right noticed and we talked for a bit, turns out he goes to UCI which is 15 minutes from my home which was kind of funny. I played for a little less than an hour and a half because I had to go to a dinner reservation at 8:00 (ended up playing until a little past 8:00 because I thought the reservation was at 8:30). I ended up another €109 for the session, kept a €1 chip and tipped the dealer €8 to make an even €300 (didn't do that intentionally but it worked out to make a nice rounded number). Since I was late to dinner, I wasn't able to degen €10 at roulette which I kind of wanted to do (damn you Depaulo), but it's probably better that I didn't anyway. I planned to go back after dinner but my headache got worse and I need to wake up a little early tomorrow so I didn't. This was my last cash game session, and I plan to play a €30+5 €1500 guarantee tomorrow at the Casino Gran Via. Here are a couple of notable hands from my session:

Hand 1

Still 7-handed, I'm down about 20BB at this point, swinging back and forth mostly from missed draws. I'm on the button with Qs7s, folded around to me and I make it €6. Villain in the SB completes and BB folds, pot is now €14.
Flop comes 447 rainbow, villain checks, I cbet €8 and villain instacalls.
Turn is 447Qr, villain checks again and I raise €12. Villain thinks for a sec and calls.
River is 447QQr, I improve from 2 pair to the second nuts, I hope he's been calling with 4X (villain was playing very loose, saw him call to the river earlier with 86o and take it down) so I raise to €30. Villain thinks for a bit and lets go of his hand.

Hand 2

Down to 6-handed at this point, the OMC to my left had left a few hands earlier. I'm back down again and was card dead for an orbit or so, and was on the button just jokingly thinking please deal me aces here. Then I look down at my cards and I see AA and just laugh internally. Villain UTG+2 raised to €8, CO folds and I raise to €20. SB calls, BB folds, villain calls.
Flop comes 2TT rainbow, checked to me and I make it €30. SB folds, villain calls, and I'm really hoping he's got an overpair and isn't slowplaying a ten.
Turn is 2TTXr (turn wasn't significant, was a 6, 7, or 8 from what I remember). I continue once again for €52, villain tanks for a bit and calls, and I think for sure he doesn't have a ten unless he's really good at hollywooding.
The river is 2TTXT, so now I have the second nuts again. Villain thinks and checks, and I hollywood for a little bit before shoving my remaining €62. Villain counts out the chips and tanks for at least 30 seconds, I'm now extremely confident but try to not look that way with my heart beating out of my chest. Villain reluctantly calls and I table the bullets, and villain drops his head and tables JJ. I scoop the biggest pot out of both sessions.

Overall I think I played almost every hand I got this session correctly, maybe could've had a thinner value bet in hand 1 from above. I'm definitely happy I profited both sessions, especially since I don't have a 1/2 bankroll and was playing mostly for the experience. Hopefully the tournament tomorrow is just as soft or softer, as I feel confident enough to at least get ITM. I plan on depositing about half my winnings back online so I can play some higher micro-stake games.

Three point Molly 1st time

Had a good time playing at Toledo Hollywood casino. Found 5 dollar table and played the three point Molly system. 5$ table rare for Toledo so tried it. Usually place 6 and 8. Press and spread of hot but with five dollars tried a new system. Small buy in of 80$ turned it into 215 with tipping along the way. It was a good run ready to go back. Didn't play max odds due to small buy in but was fun.

Anybody playing in the Toledo or Detroit area??

I've been playing poker since 2009 while I was deployed in Iraq. I've recently moved to the toledo area, I've been to the Hollywood casino and it has a real nice poker room. I haven't played in Detroit yet. I was wondering if anyone knows of any casino with in 120 miles or any home game that offers decent tourneys. Also I'm trying to find someone who I can discuss poker with on a constant daily basis where I can get feed back on hands played, strategy, brm, and everything else. Not a creeper, just don't know anyone around here and i don't know anyone who is obsessed with poker like I am.

Max buyin at the new Hollywood Columbus for 200NLHE is $200 or the largest stack at the table. Questions regarding this are inside.

There's a number of things that I don't like about this.
A brief list: 1. Effective stacks are just about always going to be extremely deep. 2. The person you just felted can buy back in for your entire stack. 3. A situation might come up where one guy is sitting with $1100 and wants to end his session, and his friend comes in on the same table and sits down, buys in for $1100, and then the first guy leaves.
As someone thinking about becoming a 200NL regular, are my concerns justified? Or do these things not really have an impact on the game?
Also, do you think that this rule is only because the casino is brand new, and will be changed as poker demand tapers off? Both Hollywood Lawrenceburg IN and Toledo OH have $200 max buyin. Hell, even Lawrenceburg won't let you keep more than $200 if transferring tables.
EDIT: Thanks for the comments. I was sitting in Lawrenceburg for about 11 hours on Sunday and the Columbus buyin structure came up a few times. The general consensus of the table and dealers was that it was not a good thing because of the reasons I listed.
For me, I'm a little concerned about how this might affect bankroll requirements. If I should have 25 buyins for good bankroll management, is that $5000 here or somewhat/significantly more?
EDIT 2: I went. I played a short session, about 2 hours. Here's what I saw. This is 200NL. Stack sizes when I sat down:
Seat 2: BJ Nemeth lookalike with $1400 Seat 3: Black hoodie with $700 Seat 4: Younger guy with $800 Seat 6: Me with $200 Seat 8: Sportsfan with $500 Seat 10: MuscleMilk with $200
Seat 2,3,4 all know eachother, and it seems like one of them raises every pot. Seat 2 often raises without looking at his cards, then 3 or 4 will re-raise after looking at theirs, making my decisions extremely hard. After about 45 minutes, seat 8 doubles through seat 3, and seat 3 reaches into his backpack and pulls out $2000 in chips. And 30 minutes later someone sits on my left in seat 7 and tells me that he knows the seat 2-4 guys and tells me that "two of them have endless pockets" which made me feel a little better.
I felt very pressured but at least I was sitting in the right seat. Overall I can't complain. I won 4 pots out of 6-7 that I played and banked a $183 profit in 2 hours.

Def Leppard complete the first leg of US tour

Def Leppard will be back on stage in June after successfully completing the first round of their North American 2016 tour in May.
The British rockers Def Leppard take a month-long break before rolling in to Xfinity Center in Boston on June 22 with openers REO Speedwagon and Tesla with a massive 2016 Summer Tour that takes then across the US all the way to October.
“Thanks for a great show last nite and what a great way to close the 1st leg of our 2016 tour. See you back on stage on June 22 in Boston, MA.”, - said DF on their twitter.
The legendary rock band were forced to postpone their US tour dates in February due to Joe Elliott’s vocal issues. Vocalist Joe Elliott was told by the doctor to refrain from singing for a month after losing voice as a result of walking pneumonia and hacking cough.
Soon after postponing their much-anticipated winter live shows, Def Leppard rescheduled 2016 concert dates and invited REO Speedwagon to be their special guests along with Tesla.
Unfortunately, dates in Atlantic City, San Antonio and Brooklyn, NY have been cancelled as a new date was not available consistent with the tour schedule, said the bands’ official web site.
“For the over thirty six years Def Leppard’s concerts have been a must-see event, so whether you’re a causal fan or a diehard you will really have to check them out on their 2016 Summer Tour” – Robert Cavuoto from My Global Mind Webzine wrote in his review of the Def Leppard’ concert in Allentown.
